1. The Weekly Meetings:
Kiwanis members
and guests meet at the MCL Cafeteria in West Lafayette on Thursdays from
12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. Meetings are fun, informal, but efficient. Chaired
by the club president, the meetings include pledge of allegiance,
invocation, group singing, club concerns, happy dollar times, announcements
and a top-notch speaker or program. Various community organizations,
individuals, school teachers etc. may receive recognition or financial
assistance at these meetings. Business items are handled separately at the
monthly Board of Directors Meetings.

2. Our Board of Directors:
The board, elected by the membership, is a 12-member group
that serves staggered three-year terms. This group meets at noon the
first Tuesday of the month and conducts the business of the club. The
large number of committees, under the direction and guidance of the Board,
organize and plan the activities of the club. The Board listens to committee
reports, discusses various projects and activities, sets budgets, approves
new members, and gives the club leadership as it serves the community.

3. The Lafayette Kiwanis Foundation:
The Foundation was organized in 1971 to provide and
accumulate funds that can be utilized for benevolent and charitable purposes
in greater Lafayette. The Foundation Board functions independently
from the club Board of Directors noted above. It has its own Board of
Directors which are elected by the club members. A wide range of groups and
organizations have benefited from financial gifts from the Foundation's
Board of Directors. Contributions (tax deductible) continue to allow
this fund to grow with more charitable work being supported each year.

The Lafayette Kiwanis Club Activities:
We participate in a number of projects and activities at
the local, district, state, and international levels. You will see
several of them on this website.
Some activities raise funds to support the various charitable activities of
the club in the community, some projects directly help other groups, while
others may be more of a social or outreach activity. The club emphasizes
helping youth-oriented agencies and organizations.
