The Lafayette Kiwanis Foundation was established in 1972 to:

 

     Promote the betterment of  the welfare, happiness, and education and development of men, women, and children in our community (particularly, the aged, young, erring, poor, crippled, helpless, handicapped, unfortunate, and underprivileged, regardless of race, color, or creed)  and to further religious, charitable, scientific, and literary activities in our developing society.

     Supply money, goods, and/or services for worthwhile community activities in the form of grants totaling about $17,000.00 a year.

     Promote the social welfare of our community.

     An elected nine-member Board of Directors conducts the Foundation's business.

   

Application Procedures:

     What we fund

          Youth agencies, relief purposes, and educational endeavors within Tippecanoe County for those holding 501

               (C) (3) status with the IRS.

        The median grant size is $750.00. We cannot honor a request which uses all our available funds for that two month period.

 

     What we do not fund

           Preferably not the same organization repeatedly with the same request.

          An individual who is not a representative of a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization

           Download and complete the application form. Applications must be on this form. Attachments are acceptable.

     When to apply

           At least two weeks before the Foundation Board's next scheduled meeting. Late applications are held until the next date.  You will be informed if application is rejected and why. January 10, 2012, March 13, 2012, May 15, 2012, July 10, 2012, September 11. 2012, and November 13, 2012.
